The Government of Lithuania has approved the proposal of the Lithuania Ministry of Foreign Affairs to confer the Grand Cross of the Order of the Cross of Vytis upon the first Russian President Boris Yeltsin, (posthumously).
The decision has been taken in tribute to Boris Yeltsin for his exclusive merits in shaping and promoting the Lithuania-Russia relations, as well as for many years of his support for Lithuania`s independence and its consolidation.
